BabySmile Nasal Aspirator Review and Giveaway

It’s that time of year again where everyone is sick. Cold and flu are going around and our littles are especially prone to picking up bugs. One of the only ways to help babies through a cold is with nasal aspiration. They don’t know how to blow their noses yet so we have to help.

Nasal health is so important to maintain for your babies. Not only does it keep them more comfortable to have less mucus while fighting colds and infections but it can actually help prevent infections as well. Having clear passages makes it easier for babies to eat and drink. It makes sleep easier as well, which is a plus for moms and babies.

Moms benefit too by having a less fussy baby, getting more sleep and avoiding troubling doctors visits. It’s an all around positive to keep baby’s passages clear.

Usually moms are told to try to suction their child’s nose with those bulb aspirators but we all know how useless they are. It’s impossible to get a good enough seal around the nostril to get the right suction. The baby gets frustrated. Mom gets frustrated and nothing happens.

Mucus isn’t just where we can see when we look into our kid’s nose. Many times it can build up farther up the nasal cavity than we can see. Having a buildup in that area means you need a substantial suction power to remove it.

BabySmile created a highly unique electronic nasal aspirator for babies. It’s a small, yet powerful solution for your child’s runny nose.

The unit is very easy to put together. It took maybe 2 minutes to get it together. The BabySmile aspirator comes with the base unit, an AC adaptor, the suction tube, connector tip and two sizes of silicone tips. There are 3 suction settings. I initially tried it on the first, lowest setting and then moved up to the second setting.

Upon opening it one of the first things to catch my eye was the comic manual. I loved reading it. My daughter is a little too young to appreciate it but I could see an older child being drawn to it. It could be a good tool to make the nasal aspiration experience more fun because children tend to be afraid of the process.

The bonus is that the machine works so quickly it’s hard for a child to hate it. Before they can fuss, it’s over. The BabySmile nasal aspirator is gentle on little noses but powerful enough to get the yuckies out within seconds.

Overall I think is a genius product. The unit is small enough you can easily throw it in a paper bag to take to Grandma’s or a sitter. It’s pretty much ready to go as soon as you plug it in and it’s so easy to clean. You just run the cup under water and you’re good to go.

BabySmile was generous enough to offer my readers an opportunity to win one of their nasal aspirators ($114 value).
