Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste

When I was given an opportunity to try Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste it made me consider the toothpastes I’ve used all my life. Many of our everyday toothpaste contains fluoride. There are usually labels to warn against ingesting it. That got me thinking, if something isn’t safe to ingest then is it really safe to put in your mouth on a multiple-times-a-day basis? My daughter will soon be using regular toothpaste to brush her teeth. I want to make sure that if she accidentally swallows a little toothpaste it won’t make her uncomfortable or sick.

Himalaya Botanique Toothpaste is fluoride free, carrageenan free, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) free and gluten free. They take a different approach to oral care by focusing on natural ingredients.

The Neem leaf is popular in Ayurveda. This ingredient cleans your mouth and teeth.

Pomegranate is a fruit extract that works as an astringent to support healthy gums.

In ancient Ayurveda, triphala is a traditional detox formula of the three myrobalan fruits which helps clean teeth.

Xylitol is a tooth-friendly sweetener from the bitch tree and has been shown in clinical studies to support healthy oral hygiene.

Papain & bromelain

These ingredients are found in the whitening varieties. They are enzymes from papaya and pineapple and help remove surface stains from teeth.

There are many varieties in flavor of Himalaya Botanqiue Toothpaste. I was given six varieties. Two were from the Whitening Complete Care line: Simply Peppermint Whitening Complete Care and Simply Mint Whitening Complete Care. Four were the Complete Care varieties: Simply Cinnamon Complete Care, Simply Peppermint Complete Care, Simply Mint Complete Care and Simply Spearmint Complete Care. There is also a Meme & Pomegranate Toothpaste.

My favorite was the Simply Mint Whitening Toothpaste. It’s a refreshing flavor that doesn’t longer for too long. I don’t like feeling like I can’t eat for hours after brushing my teeth. Traditional toothpaste has a very long lingering aftertaste. Himalaya Botanique Toothpaste left a fresh feeling without an aftertaste.

The Simply Mint Whitening uses papain and bromelain to whiten teeth. You can taste a slight sweetness under the mint flavor and that could be from the xylitol or pomegranate extracts. It’s very pleasant and light.

This would be an amazingly thoughtful gift for a recent high school grad going away to college this fall. Being on your own for the first time isn’t always easy and forgetting something as simple as toothpaste could happen easily when you’re a young person not used to buying any. Gifting the Himalaya Botanique Complete Care line would mean your child will have a healthy toothpaste and will think of you every morning and night they brush their teeth.
